Wade Long

PRESIDENT AND CEO

Wade is a graduate of Anamosa High School in 1995 and Kirkwood Community College in 1999 with a degree in Retail Marketing. Wade worked in the Automotive parts and service industry for 8 years before beginning his career with Al’s in 2003. Since then, Wade has held the roles of Service Writer, Service Manager and General Manager. Wade is now the current President and CEO of Al’s. In his spare time Wade enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. Gary Heaverlo

SERVICE MANAGER

Gary started out his career at Al’s Full Service as a young Kirkwood Community College Student studying Automotive Repair. After graduating Gary came to work for Al’s full time in 1982. Throughout his career as a Service Manager he has excelled in making friendships with our customers and becoming the “Grand Dad” of the Al’s crew! After work Gary enjoys an array of outdoor activities and has been working on the art of grilling and smoking meats. Gary and his girlfriend are cat lovers and have adopted several from a local cat rescue! Stop in and say Hi to Gary and you will be assured some friendly banter and great conversation!

Ed Leeson

SERVICE MANAGER
Ed graduated from Clarinda High School in 1989 and from Iowa State University in 1996 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Thanks to that degree all of Al’s employees enjoy some good hearted joking that Ed is responsible for every design flaw on the modern cars! Ed started out his career at Al’s Full Service in 2010 as a Service Writer and then quickly excelled to the position of Service Manager. Ed is a proud “Dog Dad” fostering many dogs over the years and currently has a beloved pup named Harvey. Every time a customer comes in with their beloved pup Ed came be found petting and playing with them just like a little kid! So, stop in anytime with your Fur Baby and say Hi to Ed!

Andy Kiesey

SERVICE ADVISOR
Andy graduated from Linn Mar High School and then worked for the National Park Service in Yellowstone National Park! Andy started his career in the automotive industry in 1992 and has held both Ford and Chevrolet service certifications. Andy resides in Marion with his children Avery, Aiden and Austyn, cat named Dexter and Lab named Razz. In his spare time Andy enjoys hiking, camping and coaching k-8 wrestling. With Andy’s automotive background and happy to help nature we are sure to be a customer favorite!

Gavin Garcia

SERVICE ADVISOR

Gavin was raised in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson in 2016. After graduation, Gavin went onto obtain his Associates in Diesel Technology. Gavin resides here in Cedar Rapids. Gavin enjoys many hobbies but really enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, and photography. He has two cats, Norman and Agnus. Gavin got into automotive knowing the need in the industry and the guarantee for a good, long-term career. When Gavin is not working, you can always find him on the Mississippi at the family cabin bass fishing. If you also love to fish or have a car question stop in to see Gavin today.

Steve Geiger

ASE MASTER CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN

Steve is a graduate of the Kirkwood Community College Automotive Technology Program in 1984 and started his full time career with Al’s that same year. Steve is an ASE Master Certified Technician and is known as “The Man with the Answer” when it comes to Automotive Repair. Steve lives in Amana with his beloved dog named Wiley. In his spare time Steve enjoys working on and driving the race car that he built! So, if you have a car problem that no one else can figure out or a cool race car stop in and have Steve check it out right away!

Matt Norris

MASTER CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN

Matt graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 2001 and from Universal Technical Institute in 2003. Since then, Matt has been working in the automotive industry and has worked his way up to Kia Master Technician and Ford Certified! Matt enjoys and specializes in diagnosing check engine lights and engine running problems. Matt loves spending time in the outdoors fishing, camping, bowhunting and mushroom hunting. Matt and his wife Sarah reside in Cedar Rapids with their two young boys Owen and Asher and their two Boxers Bodie and Fergie. Matt even fancies himself quite the cook as he cooks dinner for his family most nights and loves using his smoker! So, if you have a check engine light on, an engine that does not act right or just like to chat about the outdoors, Matt is your guy!

Jeff Abernathey

ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN
Jeff is a graduate of Belle Plaine High School in 1993 and is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Jeff specializes in steering and suspension and has been working as an ASE Certified Automotive Technician for over 22 years. Jeff began his career with Al’s in 2011 and currently resides in Cedar Rapids with his wife and children. In his spare time Jeff is an avid fisherman, loves riding his Harley and spending time with his family. So, if you have a big fish photo, a nice Harley or a steering and suspension problem stop in and ask for Jeff to look at it today!

Seth Pennington

ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN
Seth is a graduate of Springville High School in 2006. Seth began his career with Al’s in 2007 while attending Kirkwood Community College’s Automotive Technology program from where he graduated in 2009. Seth is ASE Certified and enjoys working on an array of Automotive systems, but Seth enjoys brakes, steering and suspension the most! Seth recently bought a home in Cedar Rapids where he resides with his cats Everett, Hank, Scarlett, Dixie, and Rupert! Fun fact about Seth is that he is very good at remembering important dates in history and is a BIG Civil War buff! So, if you have car problems or you have some cool Civil War artifacts stop in and have Seth check them out!
